Tracey's Story

Over five years now I had to leave the family home due to a relationship breakdown. Before things escalated, I was able to move things out gradually that would see me filling up my car with things I wanted and moving things to my parents house. It came time that I was no longer welcome and the locks were changed to the house. I couldn't get any furniture out of the house and was left with only the bare essentials. I fought so hard in taking legal action which saw me going into thousands of dollars into debt, to get what I have got today. I have learnt to live with not a lot of things and come to realise that material things don't matter to me. It is more about seeing people who are going through similiar things as me, having an opportunity to be able to have their own personal belongings and feel a sense of HOPE.........

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

I was lost. Homeless from a horribly violent DV situation. I spoke to Lee. He was warm and sensitive. I was sleeping on a park bench in Strathpine Brisbane. Lee provided me with food and long term accommodation where I am dry and safe.

What you did for my family the other day was a true blessing.
